Every home needs a thorough, floor to ceiling, front to back cleaning at least once a year. It not only provides a cleaner, healthier environment for your family, but also improves the way your home looks. Here are some tips to make your home look clean and organized this spring:
Create a Plan of Action
Decide what tasks to do first or, if you prefer, what order to do each room. For some it is easier to focus on one room at a time and then move to the next.
Having Everything You Need Before You Start
The fastest way to slow down progress is to have to stop and buy what you need to finish cleaning a room. Make sure you have all of the cleaning supplies and equipment you need before you start each task.
Divide and Conquer
Divide each room or area into specific tasks. Assign each family member a task and allow them to work in other rooms while you are doing the heavy duty cleaning.
During the year, clutter builds up no matter how hard you try and prevent it. Take the time to go through the house and get rid of the things you no longer need or use on a regular basis.
Clean and Replace Filters
Cleaning or replacing furnace and other filters will keep dust and debris from being circulated within the home.
Don’t Forget the Windows
Clean the windows inside and out. It also helps to take down the drapes and curtains and hang them outside to knock off the dust from the winter months.
Outside and Inside
To make your home look clean inside, you should also de-clutter and clean the outside. Mow, trim and remove any debris that will detract from the look of your home.
